Ultra high chair shortened with custom gas cylinder

tl;dr: This chair is so high that I couldn't sit at my desk because my legs won't fit under it at minimal chair height. I ordered a much shorter gas bottle online (from China) to shorten the chair and now it's perfect. Longer Version: I saw some reviews that mentioned this chair being big but ignored them. A chair comes, I put it together and on the lowest setting I can't even put my feet under the table. My feet don't reach the ground either (I'm 5ft 5in). Above all, a chair cannot be truly ergonomic if the feet do not touch the floor when seated. I decided to see what I could do about changing the chair rather than returning it. As a temporary measure, I removed the casters from the chair so I could use it. He is so big. Obviously it didn't last. Solution so I searched online and found that I can buy a replacement gas spring from China for the chair that is significantly shorter than the one that came with the chair, with a base of 14.5cm and a minimum extension of 5cm, that's about 7 2/3 inches and many inches shorter than the original. Once the new cylinder is installed in the chair, it can even be used with wheels! If you decide to try this I recommend waiting for the shorter cylinder to arrive, as one already installed is non-trivial and may require tools not everyone has handy. I couldn't find a gas spring that short at Revain or any other US dealer; I only found a sufficiently short cylinder at an online dealer in China. For those who think it's easier to buy a chair that's short enough to begin with - well, that takes all the fun out of it. EDIT: A few people have asked what type of gas cylinder I used. It was called "4th Generation Chair Gas Lift Cylinder Replacement" with a size of 14.5 cm and was bought again by a popular Chinese online retailer owned by a large Chinese multinational technology company named after the character in the book. Collection of folk tales from the Middle East.
