I took a chance and bought it without feedback and am very satisfied. I have a very expensive surround sound system and would like to use it, but I have yet to chat. I use this to boost my TRITTON Kaiken Mono Chat Headset. It's one ear only and has sound slots so I can hear surround sound. Without the booster, chat was too quiet, especially when using in-game chat instead of chat over PSN. Well, this thing can certainly cancel the chat! I certainly can't comment on how it sounds with a regular headset, but it suits my needs perfectly. Talk time seems to be around 7 hours, but I guess it all depends on what you're trying to amplify. Processing quality is ok. Not the best quality plastic and the lettering above the buttons is a bit difficult to read. I try not to leave the bottom part stretched when I take it off the controller, it doesn't seem like it takes too much effort to pull off. Apparently the only purpose of the mini USB that plugs into the controller is to hold it to the controller. The controller will not charge when the cable is connected to the amp, only the amp will. Once you connect the bottom of the amp to the controller, all sound will be sent there, regardless of whether you have the amp on or not. If it's not enabled, no sound will pass through it, the microphone, or the headphones. Played for an hour one night and found I never had the amp on. Does not increase the weight of the controller. When I first put it on and picked up the gamepad, I didn't like how the gamepad felt in my hands, but after playing with it for a bit, I adjusted perfectly. Why doesn't it get 5 stars? ? I did not receive any instructions or a charging cable. There is a code on the back that you can scan for instructions. Last thing I need is another cable but I have many others but it has to match. You should be able to charge the controller while it's plugged in, not just the amp, a missed opportunity (easier to say done I'm sure). other mono headsets, that's the ticket. I'm sure this will improve the sound coming into the headphones, I just can't comment on any degradation in audio or sound quality. best price When researching other options, the only similar product I could find was BB's Insignia product, but it received poor reviews. All in all, I'm glad I took the risk.
