Review on πŸ”Œ SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Extension Cable - 5ft - Desktop - A to A M/F - Black (USB3SEXT5DSK, Blue) by Ralph Banks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great on Dell OptiPlex 9020

Bought to have a desktop USB port for easy connection. Went with USB 3.0 version for future use. The front of the desktop (Dell Optiplex 9020, Win7Prox64) is right next to my foot and I was afraid I would hit the SanDisk Cruzer flash drive and break it off. First, the build quality seems very good, it's not that big and unobtrusive on the table. .It is weighted and lays flat on the table. The SanDisk Cruzer and WD Passport cable fits very easily and has little slack, no tightness issues (mentioned by others). inside and you need/need quality shielding. Even with a thicker cable, it remains quite flexible. A cheaper cable will not bring faster speeds. The cable is 5 feet long, long enough for desktop/tabletop applications. All ports are colored blue to indicate USB 3.0 compatibility. No software/drivers required. It connects to a USB 3.0 port. on the back of my Dell OptiPlex 9020. Tested with a SanDisk Cruzer USB 2.0 flash drive and the transfer speed was the same as when the Cruzer was plugged directly into the front of the Dell. Tested with Western Digital Passport USB 3.0 and again the transfer speed was the same as a direct connection. USB 3.0 port on Dell front panel. This means that even with a 5-foot cable, the signal quality will not degrade and the transmission will be error-free.
