The camera is fantastic, but it's not worth the cost! A serial marriage, just as with earlier models, ruins all the joys of this camera! I purchased a camera mostly for video recording, however there is a persistent squeak in the sound track that occurs every second or so. After some research online, it was discovered that the NEX 6–7 have the same issue. At first, Sony support told various stories, ranging from a highly sensitive microphone to a ground-breaking shutter and autofocus system. They then discussed the shutter's squeak and how it causes autofocus. Yet, this squeak may also be heard on the audio channel when the camera's entire focus system is turned to manual. The squeak sounds like a gaming sound, not at all like the noise the camera mechanism makes. A more muffled version of the sound of an electronic timer can also be heard when the eggs drop into the basket, hold on. The support mentions that this camera is primarily used for pictures rather than video and makes the option to purchase an external microphone for 5000! They accepted the appeal after several requests and a link to the video containing the faulty tune and sent it to wait for a formal response from Sony 2022. As the issue is probably with the camera's internal electronics, I am confident that it won't make any difference. The camera was delivered to the shop for a quality inspection and a reimbursement of the purchase price. I'll wait.
