Review on AquaView 6 5 Gallon Power Filter Lighting by Jordan Gonzales

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Highly recommended good for starter kits

Beautiful and surprisingly profitable! I keep Bettas as a hobby (and pets) but the inner child in me has always wanted a Glofish! So the number of color options and comfortable viewing angles on this tank were perfect for me. I was concerned by some of the reviews that said the lights didn't shut down causing rust and bottlenecks. Since the flash was supposed to be the main reason for my purchase, I was very nervous. However, my hood has a thick plastic shade that attaches to the light strip (maybe they made upgrades?). It's great that it comes with a filter as an almost universal tank, especially if you're new to the game. I wasn't a fan though. It's an unusual and chunky shape that just doesn't work for an aquarium of this size. I've put everything together over the years, including some filters, so I used one of my own that blends almost completely into the background. If you don't have any add-ons, I think the included one will work just fine. Less money to pump into equipment. Like other reviewers the acrylic had some wear and tear but I was expecting to have been using acrylic for a while now. Some scratches are rubbed off, but eventually when filled with water, scuffs are practically non-existent. The hood is excellent. It's a good weight which is important to me as I have a cat and I like that it doesn't 'fix' to the tank with clips etc but has pins that fit into specific grooves in the tank huh opening and opening makes closed easier for water changes and feeding, but still one less thing to break.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Weight
