Review on πŸ’» Azulle Quantum Byte Mini Desktop PC - Fanless, Windows 10 Home, Intel Atom Z3735F, 2GB RAM+32GB Storage by Mardrequs Dorsey

and recently saw very bad reviews about slow performance.

I bought this instead of getting the latest ROKU - thought MAC Mini too. I spent $80 on top of ROKU and saved hundreds on a MAC but much more functionality than ROKU. I was very, very hesitant given the low price and some very bad recent reviews complaining about slow performance, driver issues and Windows 10. I figured if I had problems I would just return it and choose something else. Do not buy the webcam and Logitech K400 bundle as the product description says Windows 10 came preinstalled and a recent reviewer pointed out driver issues for Win10 so I bought a separate device to avoid Windows 10 and Logitech K400 separately . Anyway, my device came pre-installed with Windows 10. After the initial setup, problems with the mouse immediately arose, rendering the device unusable. I called Quantum Byte tech support and expected a 30 minute wait and immediately spoke to a tech support rep who advised me to move the Logitech USB drive from the rear USB port to the side USB port. Since then it has worked flawlessly. The Quantum Byte has Bluetooth built in, but I had to use a dongle for the initial setup and have just left it ever since. outside of the desktop so I couldn't see the taskbar. This can be fixed using the overscan function on the TV remote control. I have a 5 year old Sanyo LCD and the Sanyo has a PIX SHAPE button on the remote that cycles through all available configurations outside of the scan. I kept pressing this button until the entire available Windows desktop was displayed on the TV screen. I mainly use it as a media center and play Netflix, YouTube and Revain Prime. I also added an external 2TB hard drive and also used it as a file server for our house. I added 3 separate logins for our family members and everyone loves it and haven't had any performance or hardware issues. That's very fast for such a small and simple device, especially with 2GB of RAM. Very satisfied, 5 stars for value for money.

Pros

Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
