Review on ๐Ÿ–ฑ๏ธ ELECOM Wired Thumb-Operated Trackball Mouse: Smooth Tracking, 6-Button Function & Precision Optical Gaming Sensor (M-XT3URBK) by Michael Reynolds

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Decent but small optical trackball mouse.

Decent wired optical trackball mouse compared to other current offerings on the market. I didn't want to spend too much as not having a mouse is a lifetime investment. Regardless of quality or price, these are all disposable items. I had no problems with the elecom ex-6 trackball sticking. However, I found the trackball to be too slick, but this Ex-6 has a 5th button that slows down the mouse pointer, which helps. I've been using a Microsoft Optical Trackball Mouse every day since 2002 (almost 20 years) with no problems until last week my toddler threw it across the room and the right mouse button stopped working. What I miss is the size, the LED trackball and the comfort. The Elecom is much smaller in size and trackball, and to my surprise for the price, the trackball doesn't light up with an LED. I have medium-sized male hands and the Ex-6 is small for me, but I have no problem with prolonged use (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). Big hands shouldn't get it. My favorite qualities of the elecom ex-6 are the quality of the buttons. They are hard and snappy. Overall the quality seems solid but I don't expect it to last 20 years like my previous Microsoft optical trackball. If I run the Ex-6 for 3 to 5 years, which I think I should, then I'll be a happy customer.

Pros
  • Nice touch
Cons
  • Not as good as it promises
