Safety First: my feedback
This seat was engineered for one thing. To keep your child safe. It's heavy, it's got a tough outer shell with a very soft interior. It's heavy. I'd say at least 30 pounds and it does not detach. It is the master of keeping your kid safe and that's it. If you are looking for a car seat that is engineered for the safe transportation of your kid then pay the extra $$$. It's worth it.
