At the moment I only installed the license plate camera and not the second camera that comes with my trailer. I first connected the license plate camera to a 12v power supply so it was always on. But I have found that the camera I received is different from the one pictured and has my 6 very bright LEDs. These lights come on when the camera is on and I've been blinding cars behind me at night. So I connected the camera to the reversing circuit so that the camera only turns on when my car is reversing. However, the camera seems to work very well. Update: I put a second camera on the back of my trailer and used the camera while towing (about 100 miles) to see what was behind me. The camera worked well, but sometimes lost the feed at freeway speeds, but only for a few seconds, and then turned back on. The tow truck is a 2005 Dodge Durango with a trailer that is nearly 22 feet long. The distance between the camera and the monitor on the windshield is about 35 feet. A word of caution: like mirrors, objects in the camera are closer than they appear!
