I'm an IT warehouse manager. We have five MFC-L5800DWs and a sixth MFC-L6800DW (essentially an upgraded version of the 5800). You've gotten used to tens of thousands of images a day over the last few years. I wouldn't worry about negative reviews. For this price point you can't do much better than these. Aside from the occasional glitches you'll see on each device, they work reliably as network printers. If people are getting poor quality with these devices, chances are they are not using OEM toner and drums. Yes, OEM toner and drums are expensive, but they are available for all printers. To get used to something. My only real complaint is that the document feeder/ADF pulls off center. So if the user inputs documents with a slight misalignment, they will scan them crookedly or jam the feeder. Which looks like bad design. They could have spent an extra 27 cents to have some sort of side pull instead of a center pull. However, this is an easy workaround to ensure users know how to position documents correctly before scanning.
