Review on LUXEAR Sleeping Pad - Inflatable Camping Mat For Backpacking, Hiking & Travel | Durable Waterproof Air Mattress With Foot Press Single To Double Conversion by Jae Newton

Not Quite as Convenient as it Seems

Let's start off on the right foot: I like this item enough that I plan to keep and use it. It does inflate via the foot pump. And I was able to get it back into the storage bag with more ease than some similar products have afforded me.There are some issues here though that you'd want to know about. Most importantly, the name of the item says it's a "Queen Size Pad" (which is why I got it), while the description lists it as a "Full". And it's definitely full, not queen. Next, the pillows over-inflate to an almost uncomfortable degree by way of comparison to the pad you'll be laying on. The material the item is made from is also easily pierced (40d nylon); not the survival-grade material which items of this cost are typically constructed with (75d nylon). The instructions try telling you to store it by rolling toward the pump, but what you want to do is roll toward the open pillow valves (this made storage a breeze once I figured it out). It's definitely noisy, even with blankets on it. And lastly, inflation took me no less than 3 minutes (definitely not the 45 seconds described), which felt like a workout because of the slick nature of the pad, and the need to keep constant pressure going to the pump.On the bright side, the item is quite long. So most users could easily lay lower than the pillows (using their own). And it comes with a fair number of patches for any accidents from rough terrain. But, while I think the item is functional and am happy to have it, I also think it's a bit overpriced at present. Remove the pillows, ensure it's a queen size, and increase the nylon grade, then this would easily be 5 stars (even at full price). Still, if you loathe the idea of blowing something up by mouth (or physically can't), then I assure you this isn't a bad choice; and definitely more comfortable than most airless pads.

Pros
  • Warms you up
Cons
  • May not be as quiet as other types of sleeping pads
