Review on Stay Protected in the Great Outdoors with the Outdoor Research Sun Runner Cap by Matthew Goyette

Fun and goes with a bike helmet

I saw a really cool guy on Trike Gypsies wearing one of those sun hats. A term I've found for it is "Legionnaire's Hats" and despite some differences, it will work just fine. It was meant to be worn under a bike helmet, but I really bought it just for fun with my bike friends. The bill could have been longer to be a better sunscreen and protect your face from the rain but it should be fine. I use a long-billed baseball cap under a bike helmet, but it gets too hot. I've looked at some of these sunscreens online and on Amazon, but they all had buttons holding down the sides, bulky strings at the back, and in my experience they dig into your head, which is uncomfortable. The design of the Outdoor Research Sun Runner allows you to easily and "neatly" insert the helmet strap into the side curtains, avoiding the use of bulky material. For the rest, I didn't want a protective mask. Yes, it's more expensive, but it's worth it. $21 at Amazon but $36 in REI. It can also be great for a lawn mower, it doesn't deflate like full-brimmed hats, and it offers hearing protection that baseball caps can't.
