My 7th grade grandson loves this item! It excites me because it takes his face from the video game screens on his phone to creative creative interactive fun. I was surprised he wanted that at that age, but he and his friends, who each have dolls with a different character, play with them all the time. I have no idea if it's machine washable, but spot cleaning seems to work fine. It is soft and fits perfectly in the hand. No ties so arms and legs hang freely.
