I've been wearing these gloves for about 2 months and they look terrible but are quite durable. So the black padding comes off almost immediately, in my opinion this is unnecessary, the glove is in good condition even without the black padding. The seams in the fingerless parts will tear in a few weeks, after which the ring finger and pinky will pop out. The worst is the separation in the crook of the thumb. There are no splinters, but I mainly work with wood, even the metal doesn't bite through the glove. To be honest for $17 they're not bad, just tighten the crook of thumb and fingers and it's a solid pair of gloves.
