I have wired CarPlay like 99% of cars with CarPlay so charging Magsafe in the car is pointless as I MUST use a cable or lose CarPlay functionality. However, I decided to buy from Magsafe (third party only of course, I'm no idiot) and get a Magsafe compatible case and this. Well, it's a lot nicer than the various typical mounts that you have to deal with springs or ratcheting mechanisms to grab/release the phone. I can just take the phone out of the holder (and unplug the cable). Anyway, that's what I wanted to do for this mount, so I'm happy.
