I bought this for my little one when I signed him up for swimming lessons. My understanding of rash guards was that they should provide some insulation against the cold. I liked the fit, the quality of the material and the perceived comfort. Although I thought it would keep him from freezing his little butt when he was in the water (the pool isn't heated) unfortunately it didn't happen. My toddler would come out of the water shaking after every bath. But that may not be due to the swimwear, but entirely to genetics. I also catch cold quite easily. However, I found it important to put it in its place if someone thinks it will keep out the cold.
