Platinum Rashguard for Boys by Kanu Surf Review

I ordered 5-6 sizes of this rashguard to protect my sons from burning out in the sun. I specifically wanted bright orange because the color makes them easier to spot in a busy pool or water park. However, after my older boys wore their shirts 2 or 3 times, the color of the shirt faded significantly. I was very excited about this rash guard; I decided to buy a more expensive one so it would last longer as we were planning a lot of trips to the beach. The logo came off after the first wash and then I noticed the color was fading and the material was thinning. I have never had such a bad experience with protection, especially for the price I paid for it!

My little boy wears 4 or 4T. I was a little confused about which size to take, so I bought a size 6. It's fairly roomy without being uncomfortable, and the sleeves are a little ruffled so they're not too long for his arms at the moment. Now I like the fit and next year it will be even better. He loves the feel and the yellow goes amazingly well with some of his swim trunks. They have survived multiple washes. All in all a great purchase.

This shirt seemed great until my 9 year old son started playing in the waves. The shirt had stretched enough that he had bat wings, and the shirt had stretched to restrict his movement. A lot of sand also got into the material because it was very elastic and the sand easily got stuck in the fibres. I've washed it many times and now and then sand got into the sink. It would be better if the material was stronger. With all this stretching, I also wonder how the UV protection can be compromised…

We bought this for our son for our trip to Hawaii. While his skin's protection is decent, we struggled with the size. It was too small for him but he was able to use it the week we were on vacation.

They make life easier, which is an important indicator for parents. Buy it! Our kids have big heads so it can be a problem sometimes but not with these. I will buy them year after year. I probably won't buy white again. I've dealt with this before - it shows sunscreen stains.

I bought it for my son to wear to the beach. We spend a lot of time at the beach/pool. It is lightweight and easy to put on and take off. It doesn't tighten the skin like some rashguards.

My boys swim every day at the gym. The shirts stretched so much that they got at least 2 sizes bigger in 2 months. The logo fell off one shirt. The other color has changed, with the top half remaining blue while the bottom half is a light grey-blue.

In less than a month, both my boys' shirts went from fluorescent yellow to more tan. I bought it specifically to be easy to spot in a crowd/pool. What bad quality.

My grandson wears a size 5 and was glad he came in that size. Most of them are 4-5 or 5-6 which are either too small or too big for him. Very happy with this shirt!

I bought 2 for my boys this summer and after 10 uses they are so faded and almost transparent especially when wet. Now we have to spend more money and buy new shirts before summer is over.

I will probably only use it for 1 year. I found it too tight for my child. Although it's not so bad that I had to go back. My son has long arms and it just hit his wrist.

Chosen because of the light color and good reviews. I like a bright orange shirt for my son so I can easily recognize him. After only 2 weeks of regular use, this shirt has faded bright orange, the logo has peeled off and stretched. It seems to protect it from the sun, but it won't even last for the last few weeks of summer. Very disappointed!

We bought for our 3 kids and they were all too small! We bought the size we usually buy but needed 2 sizes up. Otherwise great sunglasses.

I read the reviews before buying and saw that everyone says it works small. My child is a size 6 so I bought a size 12. Big mistake! The red shirt is now too big. The green above is the actual size 6 and you can see the difference.

I ordered size 12 for my 10 year old and 14/16 for my 12 year old because those are the sizes they wear in most clothes now, but both fit quite snug and the arms are barely big enough. Pictured is a 10 year old in size 12. Size 14/16 fits even smaller for my 12 year old. Unfortunately too close to our trip to exchange them, sigh.

I ordered what was supposed to be a few sizes larger than what my kid usually wears because he doesn't like it if it's too tight. When it arrived it was tight and exposed his stomach. So only order this if your baby is small. For context we ordered the second largest size and it didn't fit my 8 year old.

I bought size 10 for my skinny 9 year old son. It was quite tight (not tight) and would only fit him this summer. I traded in for a size 12 and it has extra room so hopefully it will fit him for 2 years. I love the quality of this shirt; he is quite fat. I would recommend getting these one or even two sizes bigger depending on how long you plan to wear them.

The emblem falls off completely in less than a month, the paint flows when we wash it in a bucket. I'm very disappointed with how it's holding up.
