Lightweight plastic looks the same as the picture. My only problem is that sometimes the legs break without much effort. They snap when you open them, but the click doesn't feel as strong. So if you push too hard, the leg can fold. . I like it. Good height from my knees, keeps everything I need close by and I even have room on the side for my mouse. Works for me :-D
