Review on πŸ’‘ Brilliant Daylight Fluorescent Replacement Bulb 1 Pack by Tom Lantz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great with my old coil signal lights

I have 2 vintage Craftsman emergency lights permanently hanging from the ceiling of my garage. I decided to replace the fluorescent lights with LEDs. The lamps were shipped quickly and arrived in great condition, well packaged in hard cardboard tubes. My lights have a starter switch so I had to figure out how to bypass the switch (hardwired) and also remove the ballast (easy). They come with instructions that basically show how to connect the white wires together and connect them to one end of the light hose and connect the black (hot) wires together and run to the other end of the hose. Working in a small space had to use crimp connectors and heat shrink tubing, but everything fitted together and worked well. Please note that it is important how the bulb is oriented into the lens housing as these LED bulbs only illuminate one side of the bulb. Luckily, these bulbs are designed so that you can twist both ends of the bulb to align the side of the bulb that shines so it shines. I had about 90 degrees of deflection, but the adjustment was enough to turn the bulb. The ends of the lamp will "ratchet" or "click" as you twist to stop. They might be a bit brighter than my fluorescent bulbs, but they last a lot longer and I never have to replace them. lightbulb again.

Pros
  • . Be sure to remove and rewire the ballast before installing the LED tube lights. Each LED bulb needs to be rewired, if your bulb has a starter you will need to remove it as well. Without the ballast, your lamp will be much lighter.
Cons
  • I don't remember
