I've read reviews of this camera with poor image quality. True, this camera does look grainy in low light in AUTO mode, but that's like most cameras/camcorders on the market today. If you just take the time to read the manual and get a little familiar with the basic functions of the camera, you can achieve amazing image quality in any light. The location of the menu button on the inside is a bit annoying, but it doesn't bother us. I would like to use a camcorder with a covert viewfinder, maybe you can do that, but I haven't played with it enough to figure it out. The AVCHD aspect of the device was a little intimidating at first. I was
