Review on πŸ”Š IsoAcoustics Iso-Puck Series Acoustic Isolators 8-Pack (Mini Version, Max 6 lbs/Unit) by Andy Hearshman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It isolates bookshelf speakers very well.

I have a pair of KEF LS50s on my desk at home and the vibrations transmitted to the desk were really excessive. My first attempt at taming reverb was installing Auralex ProPads, which was very helpful. However, I found them aesthetically challenging as they tend to collect a lot of dust and dirt and are very difficult to clean due to their rough and porous surface. So I tried ISO pucks: installation was easy as there are no screws or complicated assembly instructions to follow. You only need to place 3 or 4 washers under each speaker to ensure placement is roughly symmetrical and speakers are stable. You can always move them later. The vibrations transmitted to the table are noticeably reduced. It's not 100% isolation, but it's better than the ProPads, and if I put my hand on the tabletop while playing loud, I barely feel a tiny vibration. do the speakers sound better? Yes, that's right. This is not a transformation, but the sound becomes cleaner and clearer. I would definitely recommend them if you have similar speakers and placement issues. Is there anything that can be improved? Well, there's no height adjustment, so the speakers are at a constant height and always parallel to the tabletop. However, IsoAcoustics does offer other products that allow you to adjust the height and angle, but I decided to try their washers instead of speaker stands. does it look better Before and after photos are attached, judge for yourself. I personally find the change positive and it also allows me to clean the table under the speakers.
