Like some others I bought a pair of these to replace the rotten woofers in my old but good home floorstanding speakers when I was installing one wanted from 10" pyramids I've found that not all 10" speakers are created equal. They don't just screw into my speaker boxes. They sounded pretty good leaning them against the speaker box so I made some adapters and installed them. Now my speakers sound good again. I'm an elderly gentleman who wants sound quality over loudness and "rumble" meaning "good sound" in that light. For reference, they are 10-1/8 inches in diameter. Mounting holes are 9-5/8" (approx.) in diameter. The cutout size is 9 inches. Incidentally, I looked online for the specifications of several 10" and 12" speakers and found that the speaker sizes are very different, so there's nothing wrong with the Pyramid. Edit to add: After listening to these for a while with music and movies, I found that the bass was lacking. I've searched the web for speaker specs to adjust cabinet volume but found that the frequency response of these speakers only drops to 74Hz! It's not low enough to be a woofer. I replaced them with real woofers, adjusted my cabinet volume to the new speakers and am much happier now.
