Bought for a family member who recently had a stroke. I put the phone in my bedroom and if a family member needed me at night I could hear the "alarm clock" quite well and yet it didn't disturb my husband's sleep. The keyboard is lightweight and has a silky cord, making it easy for family members to carry around on a daily basis. This long time after an illness or after an operation can be used when caring for a loved one. I wish it was a little louder. I have a pretty big house and as long as the handset is in my bedroom I can't hear it when I'm in the kitchen. I don't know if there is an additional receiver that I can buy to use with a remote control.
