This tray is a standard dining style. It's larger than the one I've had before and is much better suited for meals or snacks. The tray is grooved at the top to keep things in place and it has a decent lip all the way around to keep spills out. The 12" x 16" example is perfect for our needs. The smaller one (10" x 14") is too small and I use it under the toaster to collect crumbs. It's ok for that. This is used for snacks or sandwiches and drinks when my husband and I are relaxing in front of the TV and don't want to pull out the TV tray. I will buy a few more. There are many uses for these trays in the kitchen. The price is great for the quality.
