Works very well and fast just doesn't last long so I have took off the star. I have a tank with a large piece of driftwood that tends to lower the pH and in addition to crushed coral I sometimes need to use pH UP to keep the levels balanced. It does its job well but only lasts a day before I have to do it again. next day if i can make a proper replacement but for long term use this is not an option. I would still recommend using it in a pinch (as well as lowering the pH) but a sudden pH spike will do more harm to your fish than having them adjust to a higher or lower level.
