These lights provide the color and brightness of light I need in hallways and dark rooms. In some cases I use 2 of these, fairly close together. In total I bought 3 brands of LED night lights. Each of the other two brands gave off a toxic smell. Very few reviewers of the other two brands have commented on the smoke. But I found out that the other 2 brands require cancer warnings under California Proposition 65 - by reading the labels and/or calling the manufacturers. [Since I do not live in California, a manufacturer that fails Proposition 65 testing is not required to place a label on any such product that I purchase. . . . so it might just hit the label for California sales]. I love this night light so much I bought a set for each of my sisters.
