Review on πŸ”§ Enhanced OBD II/EOBD & CAN Scan Tool with ABS/Airbag Codes and Definitions - OTC Tools 3209 by Rick Vidaurri

Revainrating 4 out of 5

OTC is once again producing an affordable compact scanner for the latest cars and trucks. Simple but functional.

Works with everything I tried up until the 2011 Odyssey. My old OTC scanner was about 12 years old and didn't work on new CANBUS vehicles or read ABS or SRS codes. This new one does it all and at a fairly fair price. The cord isn't detachable like my old scanner, but my fear of cord damage has never materialized in the 12 years I've had it, so I won't take that as a negative. It really shows a person's readings in real time. Data points, but does not plot them graphically. The menu is a bit difficult to decipher at first, not as intuitive as one might hope. The screen could also be a bit bigger. Let's be realistic, this is a budget device so don't expect a lot of the latest features. It comes with a data cable to connect to a PC for updates.

Pros
  • Diagnostic, test and measurement tools
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
