Better than the standard cuff

It's better than the standard cuff but I feel like it's still not as tight as it could be. It was very difficult to fully install the mounting clip.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Great product on bearings and seals

Perfect for my 77 CJ5. I recently replaced a steering shaft upgrade and the bearing in this unit did a good job of improving the steering column function. I would recommend this product to anyone repairing/rebuilding the steering on a CJ Jeep.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Nothing

Just what you need to get rid of that play in your CJ steering

Now you may need other things (tie rod ends, gears etc) but this is a common play point in steering columns as this bearing wears out. Pretty easy replacement (if you don't have rust) and fits perfectly and tightly.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Weak

Suitable for many GM speakers.

Worked great on my 83 C10. No more sagging at the end of the steering column. I would have liked the bearing to fit more tightly into the plastic, but once the locking ring and clip were in place it wasn't an issue. I've gone from being able to move the stock 1/8 inch forward/backward to almost no movement. It's worth it!

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Very expensive

worth replacing.

Arrived quickly. I installed it with the new steering shaft I ordered. Took a game from my YJ Wrangler Check out the YouTube video for installation tips. The catalog that came with the product is a great resource. I am planning to order a turn signal for my jeep. They seem to have parts no one else has. 😊

Pros
  • Sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • Speed

Perfect fit for 1991 YJ

1991 YJ Wrangler kit fits perfectly and tightens the slack I previously felt. Replaced the steering box and folding steering shaft (weird my steering shaft was stuck so it wouldn't work properly in the event of an accident!) so figured I could get it all while I was there. Good kit, easy to make, happy with the purchase.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons

Good bearing, bad shoulder

Bearing started to run tight and smooth. The plastic sleeve is too tight to assemble. The OEM version is split for easier assembly. The new one doesn't. So I used my old plastic collar along with new parts. Be sure to lubricate the bearing, shaft and shoulder so everything slides better and is lubricated at least initially. The GM design is easy to service, but poorly protected against dirt and water ingress into the storage area.

Pros
  • Easy adjustment
Cons
  • Can't remember

It's a good set, but it's really not more accurate.

Nice kit but not really any more accurate than the original plastic/rubber bushing in the GM steering column. I installed my own square o-ring between the included bearing (very good bearing) and the nylon retainer. This really tightened the kit up to the diameter in the column. I don't like that the bearing is exposed on the underside of the strut (even with the bracket in place, the bearing is filled with grease in the picture). I'll make a shield to slide on.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Some nuances
