My son is 1 year old and has had his hair cut twice at the barber shop who did a really great job! But I wanted something I could use at home to clean up a bit between cuts. These clippers are so quiet that he didn't mind at all if I trimmed the back of his head. It worked great straight out of the box - and beautifully packaged, I think it would make a great gift! It includes a few tutorials that I can try one day if I'm brave enough to learn how to cut his hair myself. Also included is a small cape to keep hair away. I think if they also included a small storage bag that would be great, but the box is good for storage too.
