Review on πŸŽ’ Versatile Carhartt Legacy Women's Convertible Backpack: Flawless Fusion of Handbags & Wallets by Brittany Ross

Revainrating 3 out of 5

So I wanted to love!

I was so excited to take this new bag on holiday to the east coast. As I travel light I liked the convertible option - I could use it as a tote if I had a backpack and then as a backpack or crossbody as a day pack. OK. The function of a large bag at the airport was acceptable, but it would have been nice to have a zippered front pocket big enough to hold my wallet, phone, or at least my phone and ID. The front zip pocket is incredibly small. The side pockets are so tight and inflexible that I could hardly squeeze a water bottle into them. As soon as I went outside, I regretted not taking my purse with me. The strap does not stay in place when used as a backpack as it is on a large loop. Every time you try to grab the strap to put the backpack on or take it off, it falls to the side and becomes a complete obstacle. Not cool if you want to get your wallet in a hurry on busy city streets. After an hour I realized that maybe a crossbody option would be better. NO. The strap was so flimsy that I was never able to comfortably put it on without digging into my shoulder. So it went back as a backpack where I had to A. ask my kids or my husband to access my phone or wallet for me as I couldn't get it without the strap coming off its place and not the whole bag dipped into the ground or B. stretch my arms over my head and away from my body every time I want to put the bag on or take it off. I liked the color (wine). I liked the quality of the materials used. I only wish the manufacturer had addressed the issue with the strap because by the end of the week I was ready to dump this item in the Hudson River. And unfortunately I missed the return window so we're stuck now.

Pros
  • understandable even for the old one
Cons
  • Some little things
