Review on ๐Ÿ–ฑ๏ธ Corsair Ironclaw RGB - Ultimate FPS and MOBA Gaming Mouse with 18,000 DPI Optical Sensor - Backlit RGB LED, Black by Justin Gore

The iCUE software is a real annoyance, but worth checking out if you're looking for a great rounded mouse

Reviewing the first day here. I spent more time setting it up than I would like. So let's start with GOOD-GOOD - the most comfortable mouse I've ever used. Long time g502 and g602 user here. I've been looking for a replacement for both for a long time, something with the g602 functionality and a high quality g502 sensor. This is probably as close as it gets. It has a wide range of features despite the pitfalls of iCUE software. The sensor tracks well and even in wireless mode (I didn't bother with Bluetooth) it works smoothly and doesn't miss a beat. Once set up (and figured out how the buttons work in iCUE) everything is great and offers a lot of flexibility. Also note that it was fully charged. Textures do NOT feel cheap, quite the opposite. It's also easy to customize the colors to match the keyboard or something like that if you like it. - OKAY - really need more DPI options. G502 has 5 settings that you can adjust. It seems a little useless to have a DPI range that you can't fully utilize, but to be honest it's finicky. Also, the scroll wheel doesn't spin freely or click the left and right mouse buttons. Again, this is a nitpick, I don't care too much about these YMMVs. - Let's actually talk about iCUE's bad software - I've been using it for a while and was expecting the usual quirks with weird toggle switches, but really, it wasn't a great experience, other than that Corsair doesn't have it (at least I couldn't find any guides and Finding everything else on the web for different mice I had no problem figuring out how to assign buttons, they don't work or start something else when games are launched, in fact it's a big oversight that Corsair made so quickly as possible.- Firmware updates and iCUE updates should send promotional messages to the desktop!Seriously, I had to update iCUE and got the message "Macro function doesn't work, please fix iCUE installation" in a tiny corner of it it turned out that another update was needed and surprisingly the buttons that weren't working worked again right At least there was a solution but I think something is still very wrong eg with the button mapping. It should be separated from macros. tly. For those who come here looking for advice on how to customize the buttons, here's my advice. This should only apply to buttons that you remap for keystrokes. 1. Make sure you are fully updated to the latest firmware and iCUE.2 software. Create an action and choose an action.3. On the right, select which key you want to reprogram.4. BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING ELSE. Below where it says MACRO select "Advanced Settings" and select "Keep original key output" 5. Select the MACRO drop down menu and select Keystroke 6. In the box specify what keystroke you want the mouse button to perform 7. On the Advanced tab, for Keystrokes, select Resave Original Key Derivation. Remember that for mouse functions (e.g. change DPI, back, etc.) you don't need to check if the button output is persistent. That's a lot of work that other companies do in seconds. now to my main problem. Selecting the mouse button to do something on the numeric keypad didn't work initially. Selecting the mouse to perform a function key or any of the predefined options in the drop-down list (other than pressing the button) does not work (which took too long) at the time of writing this review. I think I'll stick with the button remapping for now. Hopefully Corsair will fix that and I'll come back and give this thing 5 stars because I really want it, but the iCUE just sucks. But this can be bypassed. I've attached some photos of what my remapping looks like and the main output options. Good luck to all.
