I first bought this to mount an additional 24" monitor. When it arrived I found it was strong enough to hold my main 34" monitor to hold and installed it instead. Assembly was quick and all the necessary tools are included (hex key and a wrench if you want to mount it through the surface). The turret section is in three parts; I only used two of them (this one is HIGH). They thread into each other and are held in place with a set screw. The hand slides into place and is held securely in place. Height adjustment requires loosening the clamp - a minor inconvenience. It also includes cable management clips for both the upright and articulating arms. The bracket is articulated and feels stiff enough that it doesn't bend over time, which is something I complain about when I used some of the other mounts. The monitor mount itself tightens and doesn't seem to be under pressure from my large monitor. The monitor is quite easy to rotate. However, if you plan on frequently rotating your screen 90° from landscape to portrait, this mount doesn't make it as easy to adjust the height, for example if you want to keep the bottom edge at a certain height. If that's not a problem. I don't know you'll find anything more permanent.
