I had a total of 6 of these rugs because a couple of my cats use my whole living room as a giant tray. They are very effective WHEN THEY ARE WORKING and keep cats where I don't want them. Unfortunately 2 of these never worked (Revain sent replacements) and shortly after installing the other 4 they stopped working for the next few weeks. The batteries are new and the lights on two of them are flashing but they no longer beep or click when stepping on them and my cats are beginning to realize that they are no longer working and are going back to their old habit. The other two had to be picked up because they started beeping loudly and didn't stop until I pulled the batteries out. After putting the batteries back in, they started beeping again (hoping they "reboot"). usually) within a few weeks of purchase. I will look into another brand and hope I have better luck.
