Review on Heat Gun Vinyl Heat Shrink Rework Station iHGun-1: πŸ”₯ Precise Air Force & Temperature Control with Adjustable LED Display by Troy Robinson

Easy to use but takes a long time to melt the solder.

I like that it's easy to use, but I don't like how long it takes the lead to melt. I used it on a mid 2010 MacBook Pro i7 logic board. It took too long to remove the capacitor chip from the motherboard and I'm afraid of damaging the CPU and GPU since they are both next to the capacitor I'm trying to replace. However, I have not attempted to fit a new capacitor as I would likely have to expose the board to heat for an extended period of time before the (new) capacitor would stay in place. *UPDATE* I have successfully fixed the "Kernel Panic" that was bugging my mid 2010 MacBook Pro. I used the smallest nozzle on the heat gun to get the heat better off the key areas of the motherboard (CPU and GPU) and did it in just over 30 seconds. I was able to install a new capacitor on the board. Start your Mac, open a few applications and NO MORE KERNEL PANIC. I did what Apple couldn't do for their customers for less than a quarter of the price! I recommend this product.

  • Welding and soldering
Cons
  • I'll write again later
