Review on 🔧 Metra Electronics 99-9227 Single/Double DIN Installation Kit for 2005-09 Volvo S60 and V70 (Black): Ideal Fit with High Compatibility by Brandon Patterson

I had to modify the front panel to fit my 2007 Volvo. The modifications were not significant, but minor enough that the factory had to take this into account when making the kit. A little sanding was required to match the surface of the block to the actual instrument panel. If you are very careful when sanding, any scratches on the surface will not be noticeable. This is not required if the device has been tested on the factory dashboard. There was also a side pocket next to the factory radio that might fit. Instead, there's an area of plastic that covers just where the bag used to be. This would require a simple adjustment of Metra. I don't think Metra used a real Volvo dashboard to make this model. Overall the kit is solid and looks good, but it seems to me that the manufacturers lack attention to detail.
