UPDATE: After the first one sat in the garage for a long time, I bought another one for my workshop. It seems to be the same quality as the original. Now the brightness of the light in the working room has been greatly improved by replacing the original compact fluorescent lamps with 4 LED lamps. However, it is recommended. === It arrived today. The nests appear to be some kind of ceramic, they are not thoroughly smooth and light like porcelain. Generally, do not expect a significant increase in light radius when there is an obstruction within approximately 5 feet of the outlet side. I currently use four medium sized CFL bulbs and in my basement spaced 6.5 feet apart they don't have much of an impact on my spacing due to the angle of the bulbs the fixture produces. although I think using them in the study rather than the checkpoint - just in case. So. After placing them in our garage (ceiling 8ft) where we only had one outlet, the light output improved significantly since there were no obstructions on either side. The angle helps the light radius get a much greater distance from the walls. and now the light illuminates the whole garage. That should help with the basic things I need to do with the car. while before that I couldn't even see well to charge the battery or change the air filter. Will buy another one for my office. I just wish there were two outside cone shell sockets for BR30 bulbs.
