I bought these for roller derby because the sleeves that came with my shin guards were wearing from the ground. This has the advantage that the pockets are on the sorting side, so if I slip the shin guard is more likely to come out rather than rip holes in the fabric of the sleeve. The downside is that because they have short pockets, I keep pulling them up to keep the shin pads in place. I wear them inside out and tuck them under my knee pads to keep them in place. I guess I can't complain about the price. It's hard to find this sleeve style.
