My kitten is 8 months old and weighs 6.8 pounds. She was always pretty cold carrying her old shoulder bag, so I wasn't too worried about her getting used to the backpack. She was definitely interested and didn't mind being in the backpack while I fought the zippers. We took a 10 minute walk around the neighborhood and on trails to see how she would react (she's not a street cat and refuses to leave the house). She was doing great and seemed enjoying watching the world go by in her little dome. At one point she lay down and relaxed (picture included). You really need to remove the plastic covering the clear case and it appears to have been seamed so there is some plastic left on the packaging (pictured). The zippers were a bit tricky to use and I had to work a bit to open/close them. All in all great packaging! The plastic can be removed with a little more effort, the zipper is not a big problem if the backpack is used occasionally.
