Unit works well looks good quality mainly metal and seems well made and thought out. The day I received it, I tested the unit with the modeling lamp on, tweaked it and put the cover back on. After about a minute, I smelled melting plastic and noticed the protective cover around the lightbulb melting. I turned it off and carefully removed it, luckily everything survived except the protection. The moral of the story is that the model lamp gets very hot, really gets very hot, and the shield is very fusible plastic.
