Review on 200-Pack Food Grade Oxygen Absorber Packets By O2Frepak For Improved Jerky Quality And Long-Term Food Preservation by Julia White

DON'T BUY THESE, they don't work.

Whatever these are packed with - it's garbage. Normally when a O2 absorber does it's job the absorber packages should get rocky inside, you should be able to feel the difference between an unused packet, which will feel like it has flour in it, and a used pack - which should feel like it has little rocks in it. These don't absorb anything. I have had to repack multiple bags with new absorbers. For example: If you put rotini in a 1 gallon bag, and put a 1000cc absorber in it pushing any extra air out and seal it, it should look like the next day as if it has been completely sucked out of O2 - with the package being rock solid and have the shape of the rotini on the surface of the bag - in other words the O2 has been removed, see picture. These don't do that. And resealing the bag immediately with the remaining 19 O2 absorbers at 3000cc capability? it should look like it has been vacuum sealed the next day too, they dont. These don't remove ANY of the extra air in the sealed bag - same volume. And YES, I get that air is not all oxygen. Just do yourself a favor, always use more than they recommend, and find a brand that actually works. If you are packing food to last maybe 10 year do you really want something that MIGHT work? It should be physically obvious.
