As a dedicated Olympus user I added the E-30 to the E-3, E-620 and E-510. The E30 is very similar to the E3 and is very easy to use right out of the box. An increase from 10MP to 12MP is welcome, but not a reason to upgrade. The E30 isn't weatherproof like the E3. For most people, this isn't a deal breaker either. Image quality is typical of Olympus cameras with very good JPEGs straight out of the camera. So far the E3 and E30 are great partners to add to your arsenal. As an enthusiast, I really like the camera and its versatility. Build quality is very good, but you might notice a difference compared to the E3's magnesium frame. which would prohibit platform switching.
