Bought these for our grandchildren for Christmas. The sheet metal construction seems solid enough, better than the inferiorly made boxes that buyers say break or tear easily in the hands of children. However, the front is crammed with very small chips of paint, making for a poorer image than other kaleidoscopes - just a dense, boring mix of tiny blobs of paint, not very interesting visually. The more and fewer chips, the more beautiful the pictures. This pair of kaleidoscopes has gone down in my books as another badly made Chinese junk.
