Review on ๐Ÿ’ Efficient Cherry and Olive Pitter: RSVP Endurance 18/8 Stainless Steel by Elizabeth Gibson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

upset. in kitchen & dining room

This is my experience with this stoner and it worked great on a few cherries. Most don't. Cherry sits in the cradle. The plunger pushes into the cherry (hence the spatter) and pushes the pit out through a hole in the bottom of the stand. This works perfectly IF the cherry is positioned correctly and IF the pit is not too big to fit through the hole. (or not sideways and cannot go through the hole). Otherwise the piston will not fall completely into the pit (or it will just hit the side). Or the pit won't go through the hole because it doesn't fit. Only 2 out of 10 worked as intended for me. Job done after the plunger made a way I used an ice pick to push the hole over the top where the plunger had made a hole. Using an ice ax was actually better for me. Holding the cherry firmly in one hand, I placed an ice pick against the pit with the other hand, then slowly pushed down to get the pit out. About 7 out of 10 cherries this method worked well and the cherries looked good. For others, the ice ax slipped out of the hole and didn't push it; I had to dig up the bone and the cherries were torn. Despite everything, there are splashes. I worked in a hospital so the splashes were on the sink and not all over the kitchen. I don't expect such a device to work on every cherry every time - sometimes it works perfectly - but I was disappointed in its success. through my experience.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Minor problems
