Yes, it's nothing more than pressed chipboard, and the thick shipping paper was probably more durable than the finished product, even after the instructions were carefully followed. I cannot in good faith recommend this to anyone for any reason. It's easy to assemble, just don't breathe close by and you'll be fine. The only positive part of the experience was contacting customer service to get a replacement for the darn flimsy parts. EDIT: The original product is still flimsy, but as soon as I reported the damage to ClosetMaid, they immediately sent me a replacement top and bottom. plus a free set of screws, nails and wooden dowels. Although the product is weak and poor quality, they have no support.
