Significant improvement but limited range

I bought this for my workplace in an industrial hall with poor cell phone reception (dropped calls, poor connection, constant fluctuation between 1 and 0 bars). I think the poor reception is partly due to the building's steel facade, although the signal isn't much better outside the building, so location also plays a role. This package/combo was perfect for us as it had two internal "broadcast" antennas. We have a reception area at the back of the building and an office area at the front. So I decided that we would install an antenna in each zone. The external antenna was placed at the rear due to the proximity/orientation to the mobile phone mast. We also installed the amplifier/power supply at the rear along with the rear interior antenna. After simply hooking up the rear components, this area is a BIG improvement. From 0-1 bar to 3-4 bar. In fact, just the rear interior antenna was enough to significantly improve the front office area at around 100 feet as well. After connecting the front antenna, the improvements were much less likely because the front antenna required 150 feet of coaxial cable. Switch from him to Power/Booster. Connecting only the front antenna (disconnecting the rear) only increased the front office improvement from 0-1 divisions to 1-2 divisions. I can only assume that once you start going that long a distance on coax you start to lose some clout. Overall we are now getting a solid 2-4 lanes anywhere on the property and we are very happy with this feature. Since installation I haven't had a bad connection or dropped call, which used to happen several times a day. The only thing I'd like to say is that if you want this single pack to cover two far-flung areas, it can be a little wishful thinking. You may need two independent packages as a long coax cable really limits the effects.

Pros
  • Dual indoor antennas provide a complete building communications solution. Provides two coverage areas in any size home or office. Allows everyone to enjoy fewer missed calls, better voice quality, and faster data rates within coverage.
Cons
  • Some bugs
