I wear an 8 or 8 1/2 wide so I bought an 8.5. They take the shape of your foot. I've walked my dogs quite a distance and my feet didn't hurt and my toes didn't get numb, which I do all the time. They are really very comfortable and stretchy to conform to your feet. Since the upper is fabric I don't expect them to last for decades like my hiking boots and water sandals, but they seem to be well made so I'm pretty sure I'll get a few years out of them. The best part is that you can wear them to work or for a walk or to walk the dogs or around your house.
