You get what you pay for and it's a good argument for the dollar, but the quality of the vise is on the lower end of the spectrum. The vise attaches to a 2β³ thick table and holds 2β³ wide items fairly well. The swivel ball is fairly rigid and allows you to move the item around as needed when it has the right resistance, making it easy to move it to the best position for soldering in a new location, for example. The rubber foot fits well on the top of the table to avoid abrasion and keep it stable without having to clamp hard. The bottom is steel so this end can pierce. The jaws have rubber guards and work well to prevent damage to the object being clamped and have a bit of movement so you don't clamp too tight which is nice. Over time they may need to be replaced so don't know how to get them when needed. I'll take off a few stars (but for the price without worrying too much about it) for the fit and finish issues. The parts are covered with gray color and it is not uniform on different parts. The molds or the finishing process have numerous imperfections that make them look like they were well worn in a shop, kinda used (see photo) - again, no big deal, that's a vice. The jaw falls onto your toe when you open it all the way, there's no holding - if you exceed the size it can hold, one side will come loose. Hope this all helps.
