I love that this heater matches the colors and backsplash we are putting in the kitchen. The heating pad works well for melting and is securely attached to the outlet. It is also very easy to extract the used wax. But the problem is with the silicone wax tray. I don't think I would say it's leaking because it doesn't work and doesn't melt like the heating pad I replaced that had a crack in the shell. But it's like melted wax seeping through the pouring of the tray. Here are photos showing the small amount of wax I used and then you can see the wax coating on the outside peeling off after I pulled out the used wax. I cleaned it and the next time I used it I had the same problem. I ran my fingers over the inside of the heating pad even after the second use and smelled the oil from the wax. I have to keep everything clean after each use or it will build up and I'll probably get in trouble.
