Review on KitchenAid Vitrified Stoneware Rectangular 4 5 Quart by Tina Williams

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Wow really good best in kitchen and dining room

This Ceramic Bread Pan from KitchenAid is really good. While it's not in the league (or price range) of Le Creuset, Staub, or Emile Henry, it seems more than enough to give brands like Pampered Chef, Corningware, or Williams Sonoma a good run for their money. This baker has a certain weight, which means it takes longer to heat up and longer to cool down. As a result, cooking times for recipes need to be adjusted to avoid undercooking them. With this dish, too, the food has to be taken out earlier because it continues to cook due to the stored heat. The lack of a lid/cap is disappointing and I'd happily pay a few bucks more to have one included. This porcelain stoneware tile is easy to clean thanks to the glaze. Although my Corningware cookware is also glazed, there is something about it that makes it difficult to remove burnt and burnt bits of food. I still have stains on some Corningware items even after trying to remove them with products like Bartender's Friend. However, the base of this KitchenAid baking pan is not glazed, so it is used much earlier than the rest of the pan. The fact that it's glazed is also supposed to make this dishwasher safe but I'm still suspicious of putting it in the dishwasher as the base is unglazed and could potentially soak up soap, dirty water etc. I know the interior is glazed and presents an obstacle, but I would still prefer not to compromise on this dish. Because it retains heat so well and for so long, you need to make sure it's cool before you wash it so you don't burn yourself and crack the still-warm porcelain by submerging it under cold water (yes, I have both did). . Although this baker has only been used a couple of times it seems to work very well. Time will tell if it's made well enough to withstand years of use and abuse. KitchenAid is a well respected brand and we hope that the same quality as their stand mixers has been used to create the porcelain tile line. I really hope so, because an affordable, stylish, and durable porcelain stoneware line is something that's lacking in mainstream retail outlets.
