Very nice! Direct installation. Getting rid of the building lighting and installing it took up a lot of space for little money. I used 40 watt Edison LED bulbs and they put out a lot of light. I can't imagine using 60 watts unless you're blinded by the light! Black is matte, not glossy. I didn't measure the cables but they are very long. It was very easy to adjust the length and I trimmed it down. No cutting is required, the extra part is hidden in the panel above. If you've never changed the light, watch the video tutorials. It's not as scary or difficult as you think. You will love the result. I highly recommend this light if that's your style.
